Gospel of Luke 8:19-21-December 12, 2011

Gospel of Luke 8:19-21-December 12, 2011
Mathew 12:45-49, MK 3:31-34
“And he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it.”

Backtrack to previous verse– “take heed” points to using your mind to see that only the spiritual exists.
Gen. 32:24– Jacob wrestling with the angel. “And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.”

Gospel of Luke 8:18-December 9, 2011

Gospel of Luke 8:18-December 9, 2011

Mt 13:1-23; Mt 25: 28-30; Mk 4:21-25; Lk 19:11-27  “He that hath not; even what he hath shall be taken away.”  (in a number of parables) The point of all these parables is that Jesus didn’t become flesh in the hearer… i.e. the hearer in the example simply learned and processed the story or stories with the mind–believing they were actually understanding–yet did not work out his or her faith through tested experience.  In order to be one with the Father, just as Jesus was, his life must be tested in us by waiting on the Father.  The living Word did not become flesh in these examples; repentance must be 100% on a continuum.  Mt 3:1-12
