Morning Bible Study on the Block

For years, Ole Anthony taught a Morning Bible Study for our community (and anybody else who dropped by) every morning in our dining area called The Lair. Besides being our founding pastor and oldest elder, Ole was also president of  Trinity Foundation Inc. He died April 16, 2021.

These podcasts reflect the morning meetings– they’re raw and (mostly) unedited. Previous mp3 files of teachings from 2005 through March 2010 are available here for the time being. We are slowly adding descriptions and scripture references to the list. Thanks for your patience.

Just click the link to play the audio file in your browser or right-click on the link to download the file. (In some of the podcasts the volume is too low — that’s our fault, not yours).

Watch Ole reading the sermon “On Passover” by second-century A.D. pastor Melito of Sardis during our 2019 Passover celebration (Click on the photo, it lasts about an hour):

“Enter the rest”
Hebrews 3: 7 – 19; 4: 1 – 4
Modern Christianity falls short here. They do not enter into God’s rest. Are you at rest? Are you gathering sticks?
Num. 15: 27 – 35
Our only hope is to enter into his rest.
Heb 4: 3
Num 9: 15 – 23  If there’s doubt, we do nothing, we rest. The cloud is a representation of our doubt.

Hebrews 3: 1 – 6   What is the confidence?  It is to live by faith alone.  It is intense second by second trust, placing no confidence in the flesh.
Why preach the cross? It is the power of God. It works by recognition of his death, our death, his resurrection in us.

Acts 1: 1 – 16  The feast days were all fulfilled by Christ 2000 years ago. So what’s happening now?
1 Cor 12: 27 – 30;  1 Cor 13: 1 – 10
There is no private interpretation of scripture. There hasn’t been anything to do since Pentecost. The only purpose of a pastor / teacher is to let people know  that “it is finished.”
The only thing left to do is repent.

Gen. 31: 53 – 55
There is no “old” and “new” testament, there is only one testament, the revelation of Christ.  Those who repent have the opportunity to be a part of the body, the bride of Christ.
There has to be the fear of God.
If any man is a friend of the world, he is an enemy of God.

Numbers 35: 11 – 28
Cities of refuge have to do only with accidental murder, however today’s sanctuary cities are more about compassion.
