Difference between guilt and shame

Hebrews 11:33 – 12:2 – Shame is the acute awareness of deficiency of self

The cross was the “tree of shame” for Jesus, where he was  accused, mocked, was powerless and abandoned. He took all our shame as well as guilt upon himself.

John 12:30-33

Galatians 3:13-14 – He bore the curse. So we can be a community not defined by shame.
