July 7, 2014 – Sweet Savor Offerings

A side trip to talk about the Offerings.  Sweet Savor offerings signify acceptance.

Ephesians 5:1-2

II Cor. 2:14-16 – Christ could not have been the sin offering if he were not first  acceptable as the burnt offering, without blemish. Shed blood means a death happens. We must accept our own death.

The altar is the table of God.

The variety of offerings were dove, goat, bullock—the bullock being the highest offering; the smaller animals were sometimes confused with the trespass offering.

Psalm 49:18 – to “Though while he lived he blessed his soul: and men will praise thee, when thou doest well to thyself.”  But we no longer eat whata the world eats.

Rev. 3:20 –  Behold I stand at the door and knock…

Sin and trespass offerings were required. Sweet savor offerings were voluntary, a celebration of acceptance.
